#FASTSTONE IMAGE VIEWER FOR MAC FOR MAC#
The sorting by color is so helpful in situations where you want similar pictures in one place and the app lets you do that with just one click.Īnother impressive feature of this image viewer app for Mac is that you can traverse multiple directories at once allowing you to find and remove duplicate images. It lets you organize and sort images based on date, name, or even the color of the image. The desktop becomes a mess after a while and finding the screenshot you captured three days ago becomes almost impossible. The file management system on macOS is really not meant for power users who work with a large number of image files. You can find this app on the App Store for free. Other than that, the app works really well. The only limitation of using Pixea is that you have to manually drag and drop the image folders to the app. You can even use Pixea to convert your existing images to modern web-optimized formats such as JPEG-2000, TIFF, etc. The app supports most major file formats and even the less conventional ones like PSD, RAW, HEIC, etc. The keyboard shortcuts let you scroll through images, zoom in/out, rotate, slideshow, etc. It is designed to be efficient and implements keyboard shortcuts so you can quickly navigate through the images. Pixea is a minimalistic image viewer for macOS that offers a clean UI and lets you focus on the photo instead of bezels and controls. Alternatively, you can also use the Preview app to browse the photos on the Mac by pressing CMD+SHIFT+P on any image. You can then use the arrow keys to navigate to the folder and preview other images. iPhoto tends to be a bit of a shambles and is messy.Īlso the Canon viewer(as supplied with Canon cameras) has possibilities but is not as flexible as Picasa.Accessing QuickLook is extremely convenient and you can preview any image by selecting an image and pressing the space bar on the keyboard. Emailing Faststone doesn't seem to bring any response - I think their email address is purely decorative!!īest viewer for me so far seems to be Picasa once its set up properly, that is.

I have to run my Bibble 5 via Crossover because Bibble won't swop my Windows Bibble 5 Lite licence for a Mac version, the Pro version runs on both platforms!īasically there is no Mac equivalent to Faststone.

Best way to install each program is to put them on disc first and then install from there rather than let Crossover try to find the software from elsewhere on your computer. I currently run Faststone, Bibble 5, Photoshop Elements 7, and Microsoft Office - all in Windows format. Crossover runs initially as a trial and then after a few days you get an email offering it to you for £12 or so. If you download Crossover(Google it) you can then run selected Windows software on your Mac. 'The trouble with normal is it always gets worse.' Granted it isn't FastStone but it is pretty darn good for an included program on the Mac, certainly better than what Windoze includes with 7. Be that as it may, I have been playing with iPhoto and find it to be a very capable and decent program for photo processing. Still, the beautiful MacBook, to me, far outweighs not having FastStone available (unless I want to load Windoze 7 on my new Mac, something I have no desire to contaminate my Mac with.

Granted I am a little late to the conversation but I too just received an Apple MacBook and was wondering about the dilemma of FastStone not being available for the Mac OS since FastStone became my standard for the last many years. Have any of you coming from Windows who have written to him gotten any feedback. I've written to the author of the software to see if he is going to make it available for the Mac. I just got a new Mac Pro and I'm unable to find anything that matches the features of FastStone Image Viewer.
